South African AKA Wins Two Awards At 2015 AFRIMMA
Controversy-prone rapper AKA has just snagged two major awards at the second Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

The awards were hosted by Ugandan comedienne Anne Kansiime and Nigerian funny-man Basketmouth on Saturday night, 10 October, in Dallas, Texas.

The first award AKA won is for “Best Male Southern Africa”, beating rap rival Cassper Nyovest and South African crooner Donald as well as Botswana’s Zeus, Zambia’s Slap Dee, Zimbabwe’s Stunner, Namibia’s The Dogg and Botswana’s Vee.

The second award was in the “Best Collaboration” category, winning for his hit track “All Eyes On Me” featuring Burna Boy, Da L.E.S & J.R.

“I don't want any props from these vultures. This moment is for my fans ..... ONLY my fans,” AKA tweeted following his big win. Other big winners of the night included Yemi Alade, Vanessa Mdee and Diamond Platnumz.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka was also in attendance and performed at the award ceremony.

The AFRIMMAs honour Africa’s top celebrities, musical artists, managers, producers, DJ’s, and cultural influencers.
