Emma Stone, a national treasure of stage and screen and known spaz, is the star of Will Butler’s new music video for the song “Anna.” Butler is best known as a member of Arcade Fire, and “Anna” is the second single of his debut solo album, Policy.
It’s a kicky little number from the multi-instrumentalist, and Stone matches the track’s enthusiasm as she tears through the Queen Mary in the style of Christopher Walken way back when he did “Weapon of Choice” for Fatboy Slim.
The whole thing is charming, but there’s a 10-second stretch at the 2:50 mark that rivals the best comedy work she’s done in her career. Yes, that’s a big statement, but just at look how she goes for it. With Aloha and Irrational Man being pretty terrible movies, let’s remember Emma’s 2015 for this.
