With the apocalyptically above-average temperatures finally on the decline, many — even the most fashion-focused among us — are switching into survival mode, trading sleek, thin-as-a-tissue topcoats for blobby black jackets, Ugg boots and “performance fleece.” But celebrities, ever so clever, are establishing a slightly different winter dress code.
Rule No. 1: It’s OK to wear a slip dress in January — just add fur!
For proof, look no further than professional sex bomb Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. On Wednesday the model was snapped in Los Angeles (not exactly a tundra, but play along) toting a plush stole that perfectly accented the blush silk “slip dress of her dreams” by British label Galvan.
We can only assume RHW was inspired by fellow British model-turned-actress Suki Waterhouse, who at W magazine’s Golden Globes after-party earlier in the week wore a Brock Collection lace slip dress with a fuzzy stole by Sonia Rykiel.
Of course, it’s likely both beauties were simply taking cues from proud non-wearer of clothes Rihanna. Back in November, Ri hit the streets bra-free in a copper teddy, topped off with a white faux pelt and — to drive home the DGAF factor — a blue baseball cap.
Take note, Northface fans: Sexy winter dressing equals home run.
